Rental Participation Requirements
Participants must:
- follow all safety instructions
- use provided equipment responsibly
- comply with all local laws and water safety regulations
- complete any required waivers before participation
Participants under 18 years old must have permission and required documentation completed by a parent or legal guardian.
Assumption of Risk
Kayaking and outdoor recreation involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- slipping
- falling
- capsizing
- water hazards
- weather conditions
- collisions
- physical injury
By participating, renters acknowledge and voluntarily accept these risks.
Participation is at your own risk.
Safety Requirements
Life jackets (PFDs) must be worn or immediately accessible at all times while using rental equipment.
We reserve the right to refuse rentals to anyone who:
- appears intoxicated
- behaves recklessly
- refuses to follow safety instructions
- creates unsafe conditions for themselves or others
Weather Policy
Safety is our priority.
Rentals may be delayed, rescheduled, shortened, or canceled due to:
- storms
- lightning
- high winds
- unsafe water conditions
- other hazardous weather
We reserve the right to make weather-related decisions at our discretion.
Reservations & Payments
Reservations may require advance payment.
Booking times are reserved specifically for the customer. Late arrivals may reduce available rental time, especially when other reservations are scheduled afterward.
Prices and availability are subject to change without notice.
Cancellation Policy
Customers should contact us as soon as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule.
Refunds or credits may be issued at our discretion depending on:
- timing of cancellation
- weather conditions
- scheduling availability
- operational considerations
Equipment Responsibility
Renters are responsible for equipment during the rental period.
Customers may be charged for:
- lost equipment
- intentional damage
- reckless misuse
- excessive cleaning needs beyond normal use
Normal wear from ordinary recreational use is expected.
Transportation & Use Restrictions
Rental equipment may only be used at approved locations and in safe conditions.
Equipment may not be:
- overloaded
- modified
- used in dangerous conditions
- used while under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Free Range Kayaks LLC shall not be liable for:
- injuries
- accidents
- property damage
- lost items
- indirect or consequential damages
- delays caused by weather or other conditions beyond our control

All website content, images, logos, and business materials are the property of Free Range Kayaks LLC unless otherwise noted.
